Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and empathetic Medical Billing Customer Support Representative to join our team. This role will serve as the primary point of contact for patients, providers, and internal stakeholders regarding billing inquiries, insurance claims, and payment processes. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a customer-first mindset, and experience in healthcare revenue cycle management.
Key Responsibilities
Handle inbound and outbound calls, emails, and chats related to patient billing and insurance queries.
Assist patients in understanding their statements, charges, and insurance coverage.
Research and resolve billing discrepancies, denials, and claim rejections.
Coordinate with internal billing, coding, and insurance teams to ensure accurate claim submission and resolution.
Document all interactions in the system with accuracy and attention to compliance requirements (HIPAA, TCPA, etc.).
Escalate complex issues to senior billing or compliance staff when necessary.
Educate patients on payment plans, insurance benefits, and financial assistance options.
Meet performance targets such as call resolution time, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
1–2 years of experience in medical billing, healthcare RCM, or customer support.
Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance claims processes, and EHR systems is highly preferred.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to explain complex billing concepts in a simple way.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality.
