After sending out countless resumes and cover letters (at parang wala nang balita for weeks 😭), finally—may nag-reply sa’yo! They want to interview you. That means they see potential in you, even without work experience.
Pero eto na naman tayo… Kabado ka na agad. First-ever job interview mo ‘to. You’re overthinking everything. "Paano kung di ko alam ang sagot? Paano kung makita nilang wala pa akong experience?"
I hear you. Normal ‘yan. But let me tell you something: Experience matters, but it’s not everything.
Ako nga noon, first time kong nag-apply, muntik ko nang masabi na “Nag-aaral po ako ng pagiging empleyado” nung tinanong ako about work experience. 🙃 Pero dahil napaghandaan ko, I focused on my skills and attitude instead. At ikaw rin, kaya mo ‘to!
Companies look beyond what’s written on your resume. They’re looking for character, potential, and willingness to learn—qualities that even the most tenured employees can’t fake.
Let’s break it down.
Let’s be honest: kabado ka talaga.
✔ Eye contact – Hindi stare-down contest, pero huwag ding iwas tingin.
✔ Sit with confidence – Wag kang mukhang gusto nang tumakbo palabas.
✔ Speak clearly – Kahit kinakabahan, wag magbulol. Dahan-dahan lang.
No confidence? Fake it ‘til you make it.
📌 Yobi’s Tip: Interviewers don’t expect perfection. They just want to see if you can handle pressure and express yourself well. That matters more than memorizing the “perfect” answer.
Kung wala kang formal job experience, huwag mong isipin na wala kang pwedeng i-offer. Experience is just one part of the equation—your skills and mindset are just as important.
→ Leadership, teamwork, problem-solving.
✔ May online business ka? → Marketing, sales, customer service.
✔ Ikaw ang “tech support” sa bahay? → IT skills, patience, problem-solving.
✔ Nag-oorganize ng events sa school? → Time management, coordination, communication.
📌 Yobi’s Tip: Instead of saying, “Wala po akong experience,” sabihin mo: “I’ve developed [specific skill] through [specific experience], and I believe it will help me in this role.”
Wag mong hayaang maging napakahabang autobiography ‘to. Make it structured, relevant, at hindi generic.
"I’m [Your Name], a fresh graduate of [Your Course] from [Your School]. I have a strong interest in [industry or role] and developed skills in [mention relevant skills] through [school projects, volunteer work, or personal experiences]. I’m excited to apply my skills and grow with [Company Name]."
Tandaan: Walang may gustong makarinig ng, “Hardworking po ako.” Give them real, specific examples.
📌 Yobi’s Tip: I-personalize mo!
Some questions always come up. Huwag kang magulat. Prepare ahead.
✔ “Why do you want to work here?” → Research the company! Wag lang sabihin na “kasi hiring kayo.”
✔ “What are your strengths?” → Focus on skills na relevant sa job. Ilagay sa context.
✔ “How do you handle challenges?” → Gumamit ng STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result). Kwento, hindi lang sagot.
✔ “Where do you see yourself in five years?” → Show ambition, pero wag OA.
✔ “What does success look like in this role?”
✔ “What challenges do new hires typically face?”
✔ “What opportunities for learning and growth does the company offer?”
Your last impression is just as important as your first. Bago umalis, make sure they remember you positively.
"Thank you for your time today. I’m really excited about the opportunity to contribute to your team and learn from this experience. I look forward to hearing from you soon."
Sometimes, attitude makes all the difference.
Natatakot ka? Normal ‘yan. That’s okay.
What matters is your willingness to learn, your ability to adapt, and your determination to grow.
Experience can be gained over time. But your character? Your drive? Your attitude? That’s something no one can take away from you.
So go out there, take a deep breath, and show them why they should take a chance on you.
At kung naghahanap ka pa rin ng perfect first job, Jobyoda has plenty of job openings for fresh applicants like you!
Good luck! I’m rooting for you. 🚀
