Job Description

A Sonographer, also known as an Ultrasound Technologist, is responsible for operating diagnostic imaging equipment to capture ultrasound images of patients’ internal structures. These images help doctors diagnose medical conditions, monitor pregnancies, and guide medical procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform ultrasound procedures on patients, ensuring comfort and safety.
• Position patients appropriately to obtain the best quality images.
• Prepare and maintain ultrasound equipment and supplies.
• Analyze and interpret ultrasound images to detect abnormalities.
• Record patient history and maintain accurate records of imaging results.
• Collaborate with physicians to discuss findings and provide technical assistance.
• Adhere to medical and ethical guidelines, maintaining patient confidentiality.
• Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the ultrasound equipment.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Certification in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS or equivalent).
• Strong knowledge of human anatomy and medical terminology.
• Proficient in operating ultrasound equipment and imaging software.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure and manage patient interactions with empathy.

Preferred Experience:

• Previous experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
• Specialization in obstetrics, cardiology, or vascular ultrasound is a plus.

Work Environment:

• Hospital, clinic, or private practice.
• May require standing for long periods and assisting patients with mobility challenges.

Qualification Required

• College Graduate
