Compliance Office plays an integral role in our success strategy by ensuring that internal controls are in place, risks are mitigated, and we are recognized as a “responsible” organization both here in the Philippines and in Japan. Given the importance that the company gives to the compliance function, we are inviting candidates to this great career opportunity to further expand Bizmates’ compliance initiatives.

We are looking for a Corporate Compliance Lead who will be responsible for assisting the Corporate Compliance Officer (CCO) in ensuring that internal policies and processes as well as regulatory compliance requirements are complied with. The position involves providing support to the CCO to accomplish time bound deliverables required by Bizmates Group or government agencies. In addition, the CCL is expected to work collaboratively across other departments and provide recommendations to effectively implement their policies and procedures.

Job Description

The Corporate Compliance Lead is expected to do the following:

1. Policy and Procedure Development: Drafts and updates policies, procedures, and learning resources under the guidance of the CCO.

2. Business Continuity and Risk Assessment: Works with the CCO on business continuity and risk assessment projects to ensure compliance.

 3. Compliance Standards Implementation: Designs and implements compliance programs and standards for CCO review.

4. Legislation Monitoring: Tracks new laws and regulations, updating the company’s compliance framework as needed.

 5. Process Improvement: Identifies and recommends changes to enhance process compliance and resolve issues.

6. Regulatory Documentation: Prepares and monitors documents for regulatory compliance, ensuring all permits and licenses are up to date.

7. Government Liaison: Coordinates with government agencies to follow up on registrations, applications, and compliance-related queries.

8. Research and Presentation: Conducts research and prepares presentations to support compliance initiatives.

9. Data Privacy Compliance: Assists the Data Protection Officer or acts as Compliance Officer for Data Privacy, ensuring adherence to data protection regulations.

10. Additional Tasks: Handles other assigned tasks as may be necessary under the circumstances, related to the foregoing, or required by the CCO


Our ideal candidate is a person who has passion for compliance and has the following skills and qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in political science, legal management audit, compliance, risk or any related field. 
  • Bachelors of Law or enrollment in a reputable school of law is not required but is an advantage.
  • 3-4 years of relevant work experience in the field of compliance, internal audit, risk management, corporate governance. 
  • Worked as a paralegal in a law firm assigned to compliance, was assigned in any compliance related work in an accounting or audit firm, or as a staff or supervisor in a legal department of a company.
  • Experience in working in a Japanese organization is a plus. 
  • Good knowledge of basic legal requirements and procedures
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills and a firm understanding of the basic legal and regulatory requirements and procedures. The job requires critical thinking and research capabilities. 
  • Excellent drafting, reviewing and proofreading skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint or their equivalents on Google Workspace
  • Extremely accurate, and detailed in their paperwork
  • Ability to summarize regulatory developments/guidance in plain English
  • Proactive and able to identify issues, risks and potential liabilities
